If AI takes all of our jobs who's going to buy everything?

In 1880, more than half of the US labor force was farming. Now it's around 10 percent.

If automation took 40% of our jobs, who's still buying food? I'm pretty sure that most of us eat, especially considering that the calories consumed per person has gone up significantly over that much time.

Also, a universal basic income only offered to those making $37k/yr or less isn't universal, and $1,000/mo isn't a basic income. a UBI study would need to offer two to three times as much, to everyone.
