While I sympathize that people in that industry are struggling... I struggle to see why that specific slice of the entertainment industry is important to the world at this point in time. Entertainment evolves. Hollywood was once a critical defining piece of it, but now it is a legacy system. Especially with the toxic nature of it getting more publicity, is it really such a problem for entertainment to evolve into something else?

Even the initial anecdote in the story, where a Costco employee ended up being hired on a set. They portray it as a problem, but I see it as a terrific opportunity for a wider set of people to get more interesting gigs.
