I Hated Smart Glasses, but Google's Android XR Let Me See a New Future

    I don't need all of that all the time.

    And I got lasic because glasses are shit.

    But I can imagine working while walking if vibe coding becomes really good. But how that future will look like, let's see. We still are at least 3-7 years away from that.

    I tried the previous gen of Ray-Ban smart glasses. They were chunky and cheap looking plastic. Are there any such ones that are actually half-way cool? I'm not even asking for full cool.

    A few issues I see with these (and all smart glasses): it cannot replace a phone, battery life will be terrible the first few years and it really doesn't solve the attention problem smartphones cause. I'd rather have an audio only device.

    I only use my Apple Watch Ultra and one AirPods in for a better (albeit not perfect) solution to limiting screen time. I feel smart glasses exacerbates the problem. At least with a smart watch it can already make calls and send messages.
