    Companies would find a way to make sure it was done in a way that avoided breaking anything

    How do we detect it? Most of it looks like entropy. You can justify that the phone is unrepairable because it was necessary to pack everything tightly to make it thin. Once there's a way to measure it, we can discuss what if.

    Obsolescence happens pretty fast naturally too, I’m not sure how you craft a legal standard that would make much of an impact.

    Do you make companies support hardware forever?

    In the case of phones, do we force carriers to never deprecate old standards?
