  Well of course, because Elon cares about birth rates, not women. I'm actually kind of surprised if you expected any other outcome. The idea that I am given any kind of choice in whether to become a mother or not is fundamentally incompatible with their world view. It's just diet incel logic, they harken back to a world where women are completely financially dependent on men and that having a baby and being a caretaker to it is the woman's side of the transaction. There is no reason in this world to give a single shit about encouraging women to want to have kids or making it easier/more desirable because you don't have a choice in the first place. The gross "your body, my choice" people weren't joking— it's just people imagined they meant physical coercion rather than social and financial.

  As quality of life continues to decline there it’s more important than ever to have a clear comparison to the rest of the developed world so it is very clear what is happening.
