We're not a startup – and that's fine

To me, a startup is defined by Equity. Everyone has part ownership in the company, and that motivates them differently than a 9-to-5 employee at a Fortune 500 megacorp.

Nobody is seeking promotions, or stability. No managers are knocking on your cubicle asking for TPS reports. Nobody is setting deadlines or asking you for estimates. No GANTT charts (good Lord no!).

Instead, everyone is autonomously working toward getting the product to profitability as soon as possible so they can cash in their equity and move on to another fun startup.
