The US is generally slightly more tolerant of dodgy marketing than many other countries. Partially due to weak regulators, but there also does seem to be more of a cultural expectation that a certain amount of deceptive marketing is okay (this also has _some_ legal force; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puffery#Federal_Trade_Commissi... ).

It's marketing BS that works in the USA but apparently not in China.
And the CyberTruck is more of the same. It really isn't all that "cyber" and looks like a cheap prop for a Marvel movie --- and with quality to match judging from the recall history.
