Like others, I've been using Skype for years to make phone calls to landlines over the internet. E.g. to reach a helpline or hotel.

Now that Skype is getting killed, I desperately need a replacement. In the thread [1], people suggested using viber.com or mobilevoip.com The former, asked for a phone number for sign-up and failed when I provided mine. The latter seems to be Android/iOS only.

Any alternative? Will Teams give me this feature? I wouldn't even know how to reach my bank's helpline while traveling without Skype.
