Kevin Drum Passes Away

    Such a good writer. He always challenged me. Even when he had conclusions, I disagreed with, he always provided data that often challenged my notions.

    It is very odd grieving the loss of writers in the blog era. The para-social relationship is more intense, but typically barely any more reciprocated than that of a magazine columnist.

    I will definitely grieve this loss in a way that feels very personal, yet unlike some of the losses I’ve experienced of in person, friends, there is much less shared grief.

    Grieving, as I’ve come to learn in my life involves a lot of conversation. And his readers don’t really have anyone to have those with except for some comment threads.
