    All of this needs context. The software which flashes your Christmas tree lights does not need to be written in Rust. There is a scope in which these arguments are valid, but not universally.

    You can't defend against yourself when C++ it's brain-damaged. Go is what C++ should have been. And Rust can be a better C++ than C++ itself.

    C++ was never a great language. It has a lot of good features, and an awfully lot of warts. Still, it was the best we had. It had it well deserved run, and it is still very relevant (my primary language also), but instead of bolting more crap on it, it is time to plan its retirement. Or come up with something that's actually better, and call it c+++ or whatever. But c++ should be let rest in peace.
