Hungry-API: Checkout for AI Agents

  Hey HN, We’re building Hungry-API, a checkout system optimized for AI agents. AI models like Operator can browse the web, but actually completing a transaction is another story. Websites aren’t designed for AI, and even something as simple as ordering a pizza online becomes a fragile, slow, and error-prone process.

  Our demo shows this clearly:

  * Operator on its own struggles to order from dominos.com—it’s slow, needs multiple retries, and breaks if the UI changes.

  * Operator using HungryAPI on app.tryhungryapi.com completes the same order 10x faster and more reliably.

  We solve this by acting as a Plaid for AI—-just as Plaid streamlined bad bank UIs for financial apps, we bridge messy web checkouts for AI agents. We still scrape websites when needed, but instead of brute-force automation, we provide a structured, AI-first way to complete purchases.
