Have you ever went out of your way to optimize for taxes?

We hear a lot about people nowadays fleeing their home country, renouncing citizenship in certain (US) case, and adopting a low-tax jurisdiction.

There are a ton of trade-offs with such a decision, including moral concerns that some people have.

What's your take?

I take steps to minimize my tax liability but not life altering approaches like you are listing.

I live in a very nice place and have no interest in moving. My taxes are exorbitant but worth it to live here.

    That sounds like richer-people-problems. :p

My "tax optimization" is buy-and-hold index funds as opposed to playing the market-casino. (US capital gains tax, short vs long-term.)
