FreePBX is being destroyed by the current owners, and it's disheartening

For context: FreePBX is an open source web configuration UI for Asterisk, which is a powerful VoIP / telephony (SIP) server.

With Asterisk, you can for instance take calls, build menus you navigate by dialing stuff, take passwords from the telephone keys, route calls, etc. Configuring Asterisk can be quite difficult when you do this for the first time, there's a lot to understand and the syntax can feel a bit arcane.

I was the original author of FreePBX, and it's gone through a few changes of hands over the past decade or so. Unfortunately, the current owners appear determined to destroy it.

It's a bit sad to see it being relegated to the sidelines like this. Luckily for everyone, I was one of the early proponents of the AGPL, and most of the code is already protected under a firm Open source licence.

I just hope that someone forks it and takes it over - maybe there's someone here who wants to?
