Ask HN: Content Creation as an IT Employee in Nepal?

by shivajikobardan on 12/14/24, 9:18 AM with 3 comments

What would you like to hear about from someone who is working in Linux Systems from Nepal? Do tell your demographics.

I am interested in making couple of bucks (pocket money) <50$ per month from blogging+youtube channel videos. Wondering how much doable is this with affiliates, promotions, adsense. How much traffic should I be getting?

What content would people be interested in seeing and what content would I be able to make?

I am working as a devops support engineer since 2 years. That's all my experience.

If you want to make Youtube videos, start a Youtube channel and make videos.

If you work hard enough for long enough, you might get enough subscribers and enough views to meet the requirements for Youtube monetization.

But if you don't enjoy making videos, you won't enjoy trying to build a Youtube channel.

Same for writing a blog...it will be better if you enjoy writing.

Finally, successful Youtube channels and Blogs usually succeed based on personality. So make/write what comes naturally. Good luck.
