  But late to complain about a monopoly now that .com has turned from growth to decline and other TLDs take over the growth. The coffee place where I had a coffee earlier today has a .coffee comain, the other one nearby has a .cafe domain.

  Yes, when the state grants companies a monopoly, those companies act like a monopoly. See also every investor owned public utility.
