A cheap, low-tech solution for storing carbon may be sitting in the dirt

  This seams like it makes sense and an ok way to store carbon. I have not tried to look up original sources or a paper. Does the 3775 year old log count the time the log spent growing (or does that count)? Does using the wood in durable products do the same thing?

  I am also wondering about photosynthesis. Does the tree, while splitting the CO2 into O2 and C, convert the light energy into some sort of potential chemical energy instead of heat? Does anything similar apply to photovoltaic panels? An inquiring mind want to know.
