I've been using translation apps for years. I started with Google Translate for Turkish-English, but when I needed it for English-German, I found Google Translate wasn't good enough. Plus, I try to limit my use of Google services. That's when I switched to DeepL as my main translation app.
For a long time, I was concerned about using translation apps when writing emails to my doctor or public offices that included personal information. So, when Apple introduced an API for on-device translation, I decided to create my own translation app.
Offline Translate is a Menu Bar app, but you can use it like a regular app too. It supports 21 languages and has customizable hotkeys. You can also choose from a variety of voices, since Apple offers many different options with varying qualities and accents.
Let me know what you think!
