Tell HN: Needing a puzzle to prove you're human to log into ChatGPT is insulting

Short rant, but there's something awful about being blocked after authenticating by a puzzle - not one of those smart CAPTCHAs - that requires you to prove you're human just to log in to one of the most powerful general purpose AI services in existence today.

People don't complain enough about these tests, but I expect them to come to the fore as AI becomes more of a thing and users begin to feel like they're being treated as second-class netizens just because they're human.

    Complain to who?

I don't complain about them outside of a random comment here and there on HN. What I do instead is to refuse to do them. Whatever is on the other side of those gates isn't worth putting up with that crap.

Given how often people reuse passwords that allow successful password stuffing to steal cloud resources such as ChatGPT, they are on average, being treated correctly.
