Suspicious Facebook Behavior

I created a Facebook account to join a private group. A day after creating the account, they suspended it, claiming it “didn’t follow community standards on account integrity and authentic identity.” I had to upload a selfie, which I did. After two days, they reactivated my account and apologized for the inconvenience. Two days later, they suspended my account again for the same reason. Now, I have to record a video of my face, slowly turning it left and right.

I’m starting to worry that Facebook might be pulling a trick to gather biometric data. If they were honest about it, I might consider it, but the lack of transparency makes me hesitant.

Would you upload the selfie video?

They literally just had a $1.4b settlement with Texas over gathering biometric data.

FWIW they claim to have shutdown the program and deleted all the data.

I had the exact same thing, but with Instagram. An old account that I used for years suddenly wanted to scan my face.
