Ask HN: Aware of crypto since 2014 but never invested

I feel so dumb that I did not make any money in crypto. I've been aware of crypto since 2014, and I used to hang out in the forums of Bitcoin.

I know a few people in my area who are not into tech. They have no idea about the technology and are not very updated in tech, yet they invested in crypto and made some money.

Sometimes I feel that all this education reduces my risk-taking. I don't trust new things or people easily.

You don’t need cryptocurrencies. Index funds will also yield returns. As long as you have a reasonable investment horizon, the risks are (IMHO) low.

Crypto does not make money, which is why most people refuse to invest in it. Investing in crypto is a game of finding someone gullible enough to buy your shares from you for more than you bought them for, but there will never be earnings or dividends to qualify their value.

    ...What is the question?

Wait to invest when there's a big drop in price and when everyone is saying bad things about crypto. Better late than never.
