Online Shopping Ethics

I needed to book flight through booking.com, one set of tickets for my family (11am flight), and a separate transaction for myself since I need a different receipt for tax purposes. The booking.com website essentially detected this and only offered x2 ticket prices for that specific 11am flight. On a different computer and a different booking.com account, the 11am flight had the normal cost (1/2 compared to my account). This predatory behaviour from the online retailer is very unethical.

Business practises like this should be publically shamed. I’m now considering never doing business with this group again. Does HackerNews community have similar experiences they’d love to share?
