    Hey Hacker News,

I wanted to share a quick project that my cofounder Chaehyun and I (Nicholas) put together called YC Prompter. We built this in just a few minutes to help us nail our Y Combinator application video. After some quick tuning to get the timing right, we were able to record a usable video in a single take using this tool.

    Features:

Web-based: No installation required, just visit ycprompter.com

Multi-speaker support: Configure and time multiple speakers with color-coded prompts

Script management: Easily edit and manage your presentation script

Timer: Built-in countdown and segment timing to keep you on track

Keyboard shortcuts: Control everything without leaving the screen

Privacy first: All data is stored locally in your browser

    Getting Started:

    Visit https://ycprompter.com in your browser.

Input your script, configure speakers, and set up your timing.

Hit "Start" or press spacebar to begin.

Be sure to record your video! We only provide the teleprompting.

    Why We Built This:

Preparing a YC video can be stressful, especially when coordinating with cofounders. We wanted a tool that would make this process smoother, allowing you to focus on what matters—your pitch. This project helped us streamline our process, and we hope it can do the same for you.

    Open Source:

YC Prompter is open source and licensed under MIT. You can check out the code, contribute, or suggest features on our GitHub repository. https://github.com/AroundTheCorner1247/ycprompter
