Ask HN: How come watching 4k and 1080p still hard to come by in 2024?

i pay 92$ dollars for internet. I dont get it. Is it a commodity premium thing?

    What do you mean hard? As in it is hard to come by video content that is 1080px or 4K? Surely not on streaming services. Do you mean downloading such content takes forever? What is your bandwidth like?

    It depends where you live. If it’s populated, you may likely get 5G.

    Where I live you have to go deep into the forest or the countryside to cure your internet addiction.

    At least in the UK my 4k tv rarely gets any 4k content.

    All of the streaming platforms offer a second more expensive tier to get the content in 4k regardless of internet speed anyway.

    Pretty much 4k blue rays of good movies through the xbox is the only 4k content.
