No one will ever know for sure, as the CCP has been keen on burying any evidence in either direction, I suppose just in case it might make them look bad.

That said, it just seems like too much of a coincidence that it would not be a lab leak. A novel coronavirus pandemic just happens to start right near a lab with documented safety lapses that happens to study novel coronaviruses.

I saw this article on NY Times this morning.

It is a provocative title, but the author Alina Chan seems legit. She’s a molecular biologist who recently completed her postdoc at the Broad Institute at Harvard & MIT, studying the genetic evolution of SARS-CoV-2.

A page about Alina and her work at Broad Institute (FYI it’s a fundraising page): https://giving.broadinstitute.org/broadignite/team/alina-cha...

    Her Google Scholar page: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=uK5VWiYAAAAJ&hl=en

Not all scientists agree with her on the laboratory outbreak theory, Wikipedia page has some info on this : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alina_Chan
