Please share stories of incredible opportunities (e.g., being one of the first employees at a unicorn) that you got through Hackernews!

The only thing I’ve gotten from hacker news is anxiety about not having started my own company and not being a tech genius.

Both of my two post college jobs. A co-worker at an internship in college showed me HN and then I used workatastartup.com (The YCombinator job search site) to find both of my jobs.

I've also just been exposed to so many new ideas that have made me a much better developer. The only thing I would change is finding HN sooner. It's weird to think that this platform has taught me so much.

I got my current job from “who’s hiring” and it changed my life.

Finding a company that was high value per employee (so could afford good salaries) and fully remote (which was ideal during the pandemic) was a huge blessing.
