    In 1994, a medical researcher presented an apparently novel method for approximating the area under a curve by summing the areas of small trapezoids underneath it, clearly never having taken elementary calculus. It wasn’t long before a follow up paper pointed out her mistake.

    Somebody needs to study oher important questions, such as: do doctors need to learn math? Should test results display error bars?
