Ask HN: How much are you spending on SIM data transfer in IoT?

Continuing my research at the University of Oxford, I'm researching the problem of expensive data transfer in IoT when over cellular connections.

Are you sending sensor data to the cloud using IoT SIM cards? If so, how much data? What kind of data (JSON, Protocol Buffers, etc)? How much is this costing you right now? Where are you sending the data?

We manage a fleet of gps-equipped vehicles with SIMs from https://1nce.com/. These SIMS cost 10 euros, are good for 10 years, work with all mobile operators (at least here in SK) and have 500 MB data package that can be recharged, if needed. Received data are processed on our server.
