If it were at all common though, I'd expect apple to change something so you couldn't re-pair the M1-3 CPU to replacement chips without some internal tool.

This means that high voltages are placed within millimetres of the sensitive lower-voltage lines that power the SSD’s chips. Liquid can easily cause a short circuit that sends higher voltage to the SSD, destroying the chip and preventing any possibility of data recovery.
Maybe sell a $15 upcharge to conformal coat most of the logic board whenever you're doing a third party repair.
