Hello , Fellow hackernews users , i hope you guys are having nice day :)

I really am very passionate about cs and i do watch a lot of cs content for fun like primagen theo etc. and i am thinking of really coding projects now instead of watching them however i dont know mern stack or js for that matter and am just very barely with python , i am more proficient in this language called arturo and golang , arturo is a really small language though and golang is mostly cli focused and i kind of believe that creating websites is a no brainer because websites can act as bootstrapped side projects for most part however i dont have expertise in webdev except maybe fiddling with sveltekit and using it with ai to create a proposal website for my crush , i use archlinux + hyprland etc. and i am kind of a privacy advocate but i am very young and i would love the advice of some entreprenuers or people who are doing a cs degree or people who are working in cs since in my country (india) cs has become this trend and from what i have observed the last trend in india was of civil engineering which lead to a lot of unemployment.

i know pessimism always sound better than optimism but still, i feel like wanting to create website or cli stuff and will create these no matter if i pick cs or any other option simply as side hustle but then i go into the world of scalibility like turso db , redis , cockroachdb etc, and rust and aws and my mind starts hurting a bit.

i dont know guys , how i can summarize this but i am genuinely confused if cs is the right career option , but from what i am seeing as a trend , every country is going towards the service model and cs is basically peak service industry , people also say to me to do what i like as a job but i dont actually know , since i dont know how an economist job or lawyer job works however in cs , i can usually code a bit and see . I like economics and money and law stuff as well although i have recently started focusing a bit too much in cs because of creating websites and stuff , i would really love to get some suggestions from you guys regarding overcompetition since in india , you would have to clear the jee exam for getting into a decent uni cs degree but its really tough and i kind of am not that passionate towards phy, chem than i am towards cs , i really hope i can get answers since i feel very confused and feel like i am just a loser sometimes.

I would recommend that you master English. You have a solid foundation but you what you have written demonstrates that you have not learned to use proper grammar or punctuation. I live in the US and work in the software industry. I have worked with at least 100 young Indians like you, and I haven't encountered a single one who has mastered reading and writing in English. Read classic and modern English-language novels and non-fiction that interests you. When you write in English, pay close attention to spelling and punctuation. Write the way they do in the books you read. It is not the same as the way people speak in videos or in daily life. Do that, and you will always have a one-up on your peers. Your self-esteem will increase, and you will have your choice of whatever field you choose to pursue.

After that, focus on Python :)
