    OT: what's the deal with the images being cropped so that some of the text is cut off? I'm seeing it on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and iPhone. Clicking the image opens a view of just the image, which is not cut off, so it is not a problem with the image itself.

    It's happening because of the "object-fit: cover" in this from index_build.css:

      .post-content div.npf_row .npf_col figure img,.post div.npf_row .npf_col figure img,body div.npf_row .npf_col figure img {
        width: 100%;
        height: 100%;
        object-fit: cover
      }

    That suggests it is a deliberate design choice. If so, what's the reasoning behind it?

    The Castle at Smith Lake! Surprised the author didn't point out that even the lake is artificial. Or the 8,000 sqft. primary garage with helicopter pad.

    I kind of like it. I wonder if the whole house was built from new or did they build on top of some old structure? Definitely has character :-)

    The article’s snark was not always that funny. These places generate their own humor.

    (Mute your sound... the "music" is gag inducing.)

    i've watched movies that felt like this. multiple directors brought in a different stages of the film, so none of it feels coherent.

    however, i would love to have been a fly on the wall during the meetings with whatever contractor was used to build this.
