Ask HN: What are you doing with GPTs in actual production level applications?

So far I've been using chat gpt as a programming copilot.

When I've used "copilot" style tools in real world applications (like Snowflake, New Relic, etc.) I've found them to be pretty bad. They're clearly missing any business domain knowledge (not surprising) and give pretty useless results.

I've used what appears to be an AI style chat in Chipotle app and its pretty nice. I've had a few times now with online orders where its missing something, and the chat helps me sort it out fast (just gives me coupons for free stuff).

Just curious, are you using gpt type tools in your production applications? Have they been useful or is it just a checkbox to complete for marketing?

I did the free trial of the Jetbrains assistant. It was amazing when it came to science fiction chat, we could argue with whether Worsel of Velantia was an Eastern or a Western dragon to no end.

At actual coding it seemed to try really hard and express the obvious quite articulately but couldn’t solve problems that I wanted help with.

The minimal response to this item is telling.
