Hi everyone,

I'm one of the organisers of Tiny Code Christmas, an event designed to help people take their first steps in demoscene sizecoding with a Lua based fantasy console, either TIC-80 or PICO-8.

There are new videos and challenges released every day from the 11th to the 22nd of December where you can learn classic demoscene effects and techniques as used in Byte Jams, Byte Battles, and Tiny Intros. You can join any time, there's no leaderboard and just a small bit of friendly competition if you want to take part in some code-golf.

The videos make very few assumptions beyond basic programming skill, but if you're already a decent programmer there's plenty of extra challenges to keep you interested, people are taking part using all kinds of weird and wonderful languages and platforms.

If you took part last year, there are new TCC Extra challenges. We also have a great Discord and Mastodon community and you can find those links on the website.

The main hope for TCC is to get more people interested in sizecoding and the demoscene. There is a good overview here on the Getting Started page: https://tcc.lovebyte.party/day0/
