How much of MICA is left in Windows? Taking the article at face value, the original Windows NT had a good deal of MICA in it, at least in design concepts, and that tracks with what Helen Custer wrote in the original "Inside Windows NT" book. I haven't followed that sort of thing since the late 1990s, but I have the impression that Microsoft wasn't too careful about architectural purity since then, and "Inside Windows NT" has become "Windows Internals" and gotten new authors.
