Ask HN: Any Service for Maintaining CVs?

by yankput on 11/13/23, 2:33 PM with 4 comments

I am now in job search and I realized I super hate dealing with resumes/CV.

Every time I keep re-editing the same Google Doc document, that keeps breaking; as I edit that, I start to have a mess in all the versions; then this custom PDF never correctly parses in Workday.

I want to use a third party service where I can:

* input my experiences

* custom tailor PDF and Word outputs for different jobs

* keep seeing some history what I sent to who

* the output should parse well in Workday

Is there a service like that? I am willing to pay for it.

    OpenResume has been excellent for me: https://www.open-resume.com/

    Curious ... what do you dislike about your LinkedIn-generated resume?

    I find that just opening my resume every 3-6 months and adding anything relevant, and removing anything irrelevant, is pretty simple

    (HN capitalised CVs to CVS, not me.)
