    this is so funny.

i see a future where ad-filled facebook, ahem, meta operated app store which is heavily subsidized like amazon fire store was in order to extract oh so analytics data on both android and IOS.

same for google moving play store over to IOS with the same intentions.

my only hope is f-droid will get more attention, it will get better and more resistant to "pressures", same for small projects like aurora store which would not need to hide behind enemy lines

question. wouldn't amazon Kindle fall into gatekeeper because they only permit amazon store on their devices and do not allow easy jailbreaking and stuff.?

Lying in behalf of a corporation needs to be a capital crime.

Bring back public drawing and quartering. This time, do it in the middle of a stadium and put it on YouTube.

EU regulators are used to them acting in bad faith by now, none of that will work.

By that narrative, Epic doesn’t want a store.

They just want a place for discovery and a way for users to install application on the computer they bought.

Maybe they have 3, but they are like the worst browser. Are there really people using Safari over Brave, Firefox, Chrome or else ?

If I have a diverging product where it has unique and different features for each platform, is that one product or multiple products with the same name?

I wish apple would just repackage and sell android in the EU. It wasn't bad enough the EU forced the inferior USB-C on the world, now they wanr shitty apps being exposed to people who are paying extra for quality.

I don't think ios is more secure but it is reliable and pleasant to use. That's the experience I want and pay for. My prefernece as a consumer is being taken away to appease the ideology of tyrants.

It's like with open source how some think every software should be free and opensource, like I use Linux and all but I also like closed source apple and windows. If you want free and open source you have options. If you want phones that let you install arbitrary apk's/apps you have that option but why are you forcing your prefence on others?

Tyranny by any other name. As if it would be more acceptable because it is popular when the people with the opinions refuse to vote with their wallets.
