Ask HN: What is the best path out of Docker?

Given the recent developments with Docker, coupled with concerns about image vulnerabilities, I’ve been exploring alternatives like buildpacks and Paketo. Curious to hear the community’s thoughts and experiences on these or other solutions.

    Couldn't you use podman?

    note that podman lets you point to another repository, which the docker folks have specifically denied, for self-serving reasons.

    Personally, I think there should be more mindshare for not using remote images and maybe doing things FROM scratch
