## Motivations We were in search of an internal tool builder to efficiently handle our customer's data. Unfortunately, we found ourselves messing with SQL in order to achieve the desired outcomes.
It was disheartening to invest a significant amount of time into crafting a solution that didn't directly drive value for our clients.
In reality, our primary concern was obtaining the final results, rather than delving into the intricacies of SQL programming. We believed that this sentiment would resonate with numerous individuals, including developers.
In the year 2023, the process of generating dashboards and internal tools should be as intuitive as composing word documents. This very notion is the driving force behind the development of Dashi.
## What about existing tools 1. Retool and equivalents All existing internal tool builders, like retool requires their users to know how to use SQL to build handle more complex data. This is simply not acceptable for time-constrained teams.
2. Notion and equivalents Actually, what we needed was a simple to use interface like notion, but unfortunately, syncing a postgresql database to notion was not trivial and required third party services.
