Ask HN: Does anyone make portable PCs?

If I always use my laptop with an external keyboard and display, why do I need to carry these around with me? They largely determine the form factor of the PC. A suitably robust box, housing CPU and storage, could be much smaller and do the job just as effectively. Does anyone sell such a device?

Portable PC have gone out of fashion. The 'Notebook' design took over.

There are pc cases made to be carried around—you could diy it.

Apple sells the Mac Mini.
Intel and numerous other companies sell NUCs.

If needed, RPi-like computers come in x86 flavour too.
