Facebook denies cookie tracking allegations (2011)

    At that point it was true. Facebook's targeting at that point was just based on self-selected interests. It would naturally develop over time into this super-elaborate retargeting and tracking behemoth.

    In terms of privacy, my girlfriend and I were no longer using Facebook messenger when twice it happened that someone talked while we are on the call as if the person was on duty to monitor conversation, he even talked and we heard clearly for about 10 seconds before it stopped, it was not Asian so it is not something our much captured. It happened again the next night, but this time it is a woman. After that, we decided we wouldn't use it. It happened in 2020 or 2021.
