That's a great question. We didn't do it here because power supplies tend to have a history of reliability. I haven't had a power brick fail on me.

It was an issue with the Airport Extreme back in the day, and that wasn't easy to open: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Apple+AirPort+Express+Base+Stat...

To begin to answer you: We start calculating a repair score by identifying the critical components.

For a power supply, what are the critical components? What fails in an AC GaN transformer over time? I don't know (yet).

Right now, we aren't providing schematics / repair information, or parts for it. So that loses us two points right out the gate.

Open to input and critique on the rest of the design.

"... in true iFixit fashion, we made sure you can see the tech that will power your stuff!"

...wouldn't 'true iFixit fashion' include a teardown and replacement parts? Is there some part of the UL spec that says you can't sell a power supply that's easily opened?
