Climate change is going to impact the middle east most dangerously. Yet Everyone keeps on claiming how climate change is making their lives miserable.

In the Arab countries, water is life. Before the 20th century, local rulers knew this very strongly and invested in water projects. (It's the reason why they never valued capitalism, because it bordered on wasteful.) After 20th century, the number of water projects started decreasing. And more investment was made in addressing possibility of conflicts and wars.

The world has taken a terrible turn.

The Sistan and Baluchistan region is on the Gulf of Oman, with all of that solar energy, can’t they desalinate?

I guess it’s money and political problems, rather than technical ones…

If only they put their money and engineering into water wells and desalination instead of nuclear weapons. But I get it, the former makes life easier for citizens, while the latter is only useful for threatening their neighbors and other objects of their hatred.
