Google adding Google Meet to all meetings?

Has anyone else experienced google silently turning on Google Meet links being added to all Google Calendar events?

    Why do people use HN as technical support? it's infuriating, lol.

       On your computer, open Google Calendar.
   In the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
   On the left, under "Event Settings." 
   Click on or off Automatically add Google Meet video conferences to events I create.
    By the way this is not a slight against you in particular. I've noticed many people doing this.

    You can turn this off in settings.

    The firm I work in uses the entire GSuite of tools.

    Has been this way for us for roughly 6+ years, it's actually quite handy.
