1Password is adding telemetry

    It sounds like they're planning it to be as general as possible (more just "how much is each feature used"), but it'll also be fully opt-in:

    > And, of course, once this functionality rolls out to customers, you’ll be able to control whether or not telemetry is active on your account.

    ("account" sounds like you can turn it off family-wide or even organization-wide)

    Today is always the best day to start using keepass and build the good habit of relying on self for managing passwords. Every news related to password services remind us. Nothing is never granted and you never know what will be the next evolutions of the app you abandonned your passwords to.

    Oh dear. That doesn’t sound good for those using and recommending 1Password.

    Very disheartening.

    While I have more hope for 1Password than most, at the end of the day, user activity data isn't needed, and this just feels like a start to get more data later.

    Time to reconsider using 1Password. Cloud only was a stretch but also adding telemetry getting a bit much now
