Google Fonts respects user privacy

  Methinks the lady doth protest too much. Are fonts really so much black magic to self-host? If they're so concerned about about users having a good experience, why not explain how to implement their magic?

  To be clear I don't think there's anything nefarious but given the tone of the communication it seems plausible to conclude that they derive some non-reputational benefit.
