The house I own came with a gas stove and a vent that vented inside (the previous owner said it vented outside...). It cost nearly $800 to have it properly vented to the outside. I think the vent itself was $400 but that's based trying to figure it out which model we had. The thing I do remember about the vent is that it has 3 settings and only the highest goes above the recommend CFM.
If the installation of a gas stove is going to entail an addition of $800 to $1200 (could be cheaper for a builder), why would they choose this option unless they knew they could charge a premium for the home?
But I do concede the elimination of gas stoves is beneficial for the environment as well; and, imo, is a much better argument than the manufactured moral panic around asthma in kids.
