I wrote this up because oil prices are high and it definitely helps. This is a no-code solution to getting two thermostats to interact via alexa, if-this-then-that, and their respective smart applications. It's a quick and dirty hack, but I've been running it for about a month now and it's Just Worked. Also nice is that since the whole thing is controlled via Alexa, I can yell at my phone and have it tell me about the status of things.

I would love to know if there's an actual way to audit the costs of this aside of guessdimates, but without some fancy way of figuring out how well my baseboard radiators convert "burning oil" into "usable heat", it's going to be a guess at best.
