Googling reveals all services are having recruitment problems after having good retention during covid. As always, military service is inversely proportional to economic opportunities. And unfortunately for the military, people have seen what their purpose is. Safer flipping burgers if you don’t need the benefits, have trouble to avoid or have a tradition of service coupled with difficulty attending college.
