Gun applicants required to list social media accounts

  It appears as though the government would like to use gun registration as means to actively surveil on citizens.

  This seems a bit far reaching. They already know your address, social security number, DOB, phone number, any aliases, height, weight, etc.

  What do they propose to do with the information?

  And if applicants say "I don't have any"? Or applicant creates a fake one?

  Is this a violation of privacy or does such a thing still exist?

  Imagine they want social media accounts for a driver's license.
