During commutes and chores. Mostly really geeky tech podcast. Computer Security, embedded systems, networking. Twit.tv, packetpushers.net, theamphour.com embedded.fm, unnamedre.com. www.cbc.ca/radio/spark.
Grazed through dozen more worldsgreatestcon.fireside.fm
www.redhat.com/en/command-line-heroes(a season or 2 behind).
Audio books don't really do it form me.
All of the podcast I listen to have RSS feeds. Don't use podcast services

Yes, but mostly when traveling or commuting. A few times a year at most I'll look through "best of the year" lists at various places or responses to "what podcasts do you like?" at places like here or Reddit. If I come across an article highlighting a podcast that sounds interesting, I'll add it to my subscription list.
I get behind on them and then feel swamped.

Podcasts get recommended internally through the podcast mafia :-)
My favs are Joe Rogan (used to have very high quality guests, seems to have dipped a bit since he hit the news), Lex Friedman (excellent tech/science/CS guests), Jocko (inspiring), Broken Record ( Rick Rubin and friends ), Darknet Diaries ( securities )

Sometimes, when I can't find any good audio books. I'm pretty ossified in my tastes and only listen to the same hand full for a decade now. And even then only about 1/2 of their episodes are to my liking.

Yes. Mostly through word of mouth and occasionally by search for topics

Yes, during commute. I mostly find them through mentions in other podcasts or articles- most of the podcasts I listen to are around the same subject.

No, because I prefer reading instead of listening for most content.
Listening just feels too passive for me.

Mostly, I start them up in Youtube, then listen to them.
I've also been listening to a lot of talks at NDC and GOTO

I do listen to podcasts, mainly palaeontology, like Palaeocast.
I used to find them as word-of-mouth on Twitter, but then I deleted my Twitter account because Twitter is already overrun with bots and weird political posts. I also realized that even if Elon Musk, the Richest and therefore the Smartest man in the world, took over, I was still Twitter's product. I wasn't getting paid to be on Twitter, so Goodbye!
