  I would be very careful with that because chances are that the decision to host in "the cloud" wasn't theirs to begin with. It is amusing that people start to complain about infrastructure costs now to be honest.

  A very important point. I think its very easy to use the latest and greatest when someone else is paying the bills. If you start thinking about costs it would lead to a change in your cloud infrastructure architecture. It makes us better engineers i think.
